Lorcana Hyperia City: why US boxes trade at $265 against a $144 MSRP, and how to pre-order in Europe
Disney Lorcana's next set, Hyperia City (Set 14), launches on 23 October 2026 (prerelease 16 October). Two months before launch, US secondary-market prices for the booster box were already far above retail: TheGamer reported a market value of about $265 against an MSRP of $143.76, after a peak near $299. The previous set, Attack of the Vine, peaked around $254.
What is driving the demand
- Franchises people love: the set brings Pixar's Coco and Zootopia characters, plus classic Disney princesses (official set page).
- A new mechanic: Ink Drops, counters that reward different play patterns, plus a discard-pile theme.
- Chase cards: Epic, Enchanted and two Iconic cards (Mickey Mouse – Best in Town and Cinderella – Unintentional Icon) sit above the main numbered set.
- Tight supply: press reports point to recurring stock shortages and scalping in the US, and at least one US retailer reported its pre-order sold out.
What this means for European buyers
The US gap is a US-market observation. We cannot promise any European price will follow it. What we can say plainly is where our pre-order price sits today: the Hyperia City Booster Box is €144.99, close to the US retail price, and the Illumineer's Trove is €54.99. Both ship from Portugal with no customs fees inside the EU.
The bigger picture: Lorcana's track record so far
That is the set that started it all — three years old now, and still trading well above its original MSRP rather than settling back down. It's one data point, not a guarantee for Hyperia City or any future set, but it is the clearest example so far of what buying a Lorcana set sealed, early, and holding onto it has actually done.
How to think about pre-ordering
- Buy what you want to open or keep. Sealed product can move either way.
- Pre-order early. Allocation for popular Lorcana sets has been tight; a locked price and a reserved unit matter more than a few euros.
- Check the ship date. Ours is 23 October for the box.
